The company ARDATH was founded in 1905 by Sir Albert Levy at London. In 1925 the company gets acquired by IMPERIAL TOBACCO (british market) and BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO (overseas division). Since 1960 it belongs totally to BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO.

Today ARDATH is just a brand, but see as well other former ARDATH brands like Astorias, Chief Whip, Ciras, Grosvenor, Splendo, State Express 333, State Express 555, Strand.
